RAGLAN was sired by Cap-a-pie, whoso cross-crmnt-ry stock nre favourably known. Tcnambia, the dam of Raglan, was a highly bred mare, and ran (ivu seconds in Auckland. She was sired by that grand horse The Marquis, and two of the races lie won were the classic English Two Thou.sind Guineas.and the St. Leger. Tenambra, by the Marquis out of Lady Manners—Suttin, by Pitaford (imported) out of Green Linnet, Green Linnet by Delaprc (imported) out of Kate Kearney. Kate Kearney by Rory O'More (imported) out of Dagloinc (imported thoroughbred Irish hunter). The Marquis by Stockwell (son of The Baron) out of Cinizelli. Ci»ize!!i by Touchstone out of Brocade. Brocade Dy Pantaloon out ot Boomba/.ine. lioombazine by Thunderbolt out of Delta. Delta by Alexander. When on the turf Raglan proved himself a thorough honest horse and first-class stayer, able to last to the end of a Cup race, carrying weight and defeating the best horses in Auckland. In sprint races he showed his pace by beating performers like Teksum (who won races against the best horses in Australia), Cissy, and others.
As it will be seen, Raglan is a suitable horse to breed from to get racehorses and fast cross-country stock ; and if put to roomy active mares, to get weightcarrying hacks and active, harness horses.

PATRICK, Hy The Premier—Phcenix, by Gowusii.an out of Ikamatuki, by Figaro out of Brunette. Figaro by Gil Bias, out of Flora Mclvor (Flora Mclvor the dam ot Frailty, the dam of Trenton, Cuirassier, &c. Phienix, dam of St. Patrick, was a good performer In 1575 she won the Fahautaniii Stakes at Wellington, beating a large Held, also the Consolation at Masterton. Ran second to Cocksure fur the Hntt Park Stakes, and third for the Provincial Plate, being beaten by Fish- j hook and Pungawerewerc (both Uuncdin Cup winners). St. Patrick is a beautiful davk chestnut, standing over 10 hands, with giand bone and good temper. He has been shown six times, taking six lirst prizes, including lhi\v!:e's Ray and (.'ainbridgo last year, as an entire lor getting carriage horses.
