At the rink Birdcage, Five O'clock Tea, and Night- were great favourites, but at the ball Queen of Scots was undoubtedly the best fancy dress, and tho character exactly suited the wearers. Among the gentlemen, Mr J. Bell as a Higlilanduian, took the palm, but Mes-rs Buckland as Waikato Tihks, and Mr Hester as Chamber's Flour were also very good. Mr 11. Stewait caused considerable f,m .it the rink as a New Chum on Skates ami the clowns also helped to keep the fun going. Dancing was commenced soon after 10 P.m., and was kept up with spirit till 3.30 a.m. Refreshments, were provided by Mis Popple, and gave every satisfaction.
