AYRSHIREGATTLE IN THE SOUTH

Atkshikk cattle appear to stand high in popular favour further south. At Christchurch lately Mr James Little's well known herd of pedigree Ayrshire cattle was sold. The whole herd was disposed of, excepting his all-aged bull Laird o , Cockpen and three cows. Twenty-eight cows and heifers and four bulls were sold, the prices ranging from five to fifty guineas, the average being eieteen and a quarter guineas. The buyers were mostly Canterbury residents.
