A SIRETING of those interested in forming a trotting and pmy club in the Waikato was held in Mr Wells'chambers, Duke-street, Cambridge, on Saturday evening, at 7.30 p.m. There were present :—Messrs J. S. Bucklaml, J. Tutchen, T. Walker, W. G. Park, C. Park, F. Brown, T. Harmon, T. Davies, J. Runciman, R. Kirkwood, A. Bach, J. Dalgleieh, C. Box, H. Kerr, R. Hannon. G. 11. Carter (Hamilton), R. Buckland having convened the meeting, he read the advertisement calling the sams, after which Mr Arthur Bach was voted to the chair.—The chairman snid he thought Cambridge could very well ran a Wotting club with the support of the neighbouring districts, and ho was pleased to say that promises of support had been freely offered by the inhabitants of the Waikato generally, and not a few residents of Auckland had also promised to help the cause. One of the chief inducements in making a further attempt to form a trotting club was the very handsome offer made by Mr Tutchen tn grant tlie use of the old racecourse at Gwynnelands free of charge. He was sure they were all deeply grateful to Mr Tutchen, tor his offer had removed the chief obstacle against the undertaking, and he hoped that gentleman would live to see many races :it Gwynnelands—one of the finest racecourses in New Zealand. Cainbridge of late had "gone to the doge,' , so far as sport was concerned, through the apathy displayed by its inhabitants. The flat races and steeplechases had gone to Hamilton, and there they would doubtlese remain, and the Cambridge people appeared content with the alteration and went to Hamilton, to support the races ; but he wns sure the Hamiltonians were no uiggards and would reciprocate by attending a trotting meeting if one were held at Gwynnelands. MrG. H. Career, of Hamilton, confirmed the chairman's remarks, and suggested that there being no similar institution in the Waikato, that that name should be prefixed to the title of the Club.—On the motion of Mr Kirkwood. seconded by Mr Kerr, it was unanimously resolved to form a club, and that it be called the Waikato TrottingClub.—lt wasunaniiuously resolved to ask the following gentleman to accept the following offices :—President: Mr J.
