Tiik above body met lit Hewitt's Hotel, on Tuesday, nt 7.00 p.m. Present: Messrs .J. P. (Thomson (chairman), K. W. Sargent, J. Webber, T. Wells, and K. Hewitt. The Tkachkr's Housk.—The Board ef Education wrote, informing the Committee that tenders wore about to be called for painting the teacher's house, and that half the cost would be deducted from tho animal allowance.—Tho cummitteo agreed to the house being painted, provided the payment extend over a period of two years. Thk Michaki.jh.s Hlii.ioai*. —Mi It. C Dyer, the head master wrote : I have the honour to respectfully ask permission to postpone the JVlicbaeluiiM holidays. My reasons for making the requests are : —lst. That the standard examination will bo brought forward a month, so there will bo only eleven, instead ot twelve months, for preparation. 2nd. That La Grippe materially nlfecto'l tho attendance for two months. 3rd. That owing to the changes in the stuff, there has been only one class taught continuously \<y tho same teacher. Either of these is a cause sufficient to affect the result of tho examination, but the combination of them is a serious matter. —The request was complied with, and the holidays will commence as soon as the examinations are over. New Mkjiiieu.— Mr CI. Dickenson whs elected a member of the committee, vice, Mr C. Hoyoe, resigned. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for payment :—T. Wells, /is M : .1.
