OHINEMURI.
Mini'.iis' I'miin.—The local Miners' Union is now properly affiliated on to tho Amalgamated Minors' Union of Australasia, the headquarters of which are at Creswick, Victoria. The names of lill original members have been handed in, and the local branch will now be en with tho whole of the, tiades union organisations of Australia and Xew Zealand. Tiiamks Kivmi Boahii.—The Thames Harbour Board matter lias created quite a storm iu a teapot here lately, and has all ended in a lizzie. There is some talk of a petition to re-organise tho existing Itiver Board, and to form it so that it shall consist of two members of the Piako County Council, one from tfie Te Aroha lown Board, three from the Ohinemiiri County Council, two from the Thames County Council, and one from til- Thames Harbour Board, the limits to be the Ohiueniuri, Waitoa, Waihou and I'iako rivers from sources to estuaries. This is a very fair argument,, and should be done. The I'iako County Council will probably be communicated with on tho matter.
