Aitken's Mauket Report for the week etjding March 22nd.—Supplies of most kinds of produce have been large, and good quantities were quitted. Sales were held as follows : Tuesday and Friday,- the usual produce and fruit; Wednesday, furniture and etfacts at North Shore; Thursday,,, sale of bananas, etc., ex Arawata. The shipment was a large one, and far in excess ■i of market requirements. Bananas, Is 6d to 2a 9d per bunch, and gd tc Id ; pines, 4s 6d to 5s per dozr Poultry of all kinds havebeen in shorter supply., There is a largo demand for ducks, fowls, and good young pigs for Island orders; all have fetched higher prices. Poor and old fowlsjls 3d to Is 5d ; good ordinary, Is (id to Iβ 10d ; roo9tera, young, in condition, Is Od-to 23 3d; others, Is 4d to Is ,7d ; ducki), Is 6d to 2s; geese, 3s to 3s 6d} turkeys, hens 4s to ss, gobblers, 7s to f& each. Pigs: Moderate supply; first-olass lots, 10a to 12s: medium, 7s to 8s; sma|L 4s to ss. No cage birds entered. Potatoes* have been more plentiful;- guaranteed samples have been quitted in fair quantities at £3 to £6, other kinds sell only at auction at from £2 to £2 15s; cow potatoes, 30s to 40s. Onions'. Orders for several tons of first olass. at £710s, could not be executed, owiiig to short supply. A quantity of inferior on band could not be quitted; prime , have been sold at £d to Id. Carrots, 2s 3d to 2a 6d; wheat is wanted at 3s; bran, £4; sharps, £4 10s; maize, nono. Hams and bacon: Only Southern to ' hand; farmers' cure, by the case Gd, for equal numbers ; firsts, bacon B|d, hams 10d Cheese: Farmers,lots overstocked ; -de-' mand dull at 3d to 4d ; factory, none. Eggs : Moderate supply at Is Gd to 2s per dozen. Fresh butter : Short supply at 9d to 10d; keg butter, 3d to 7d. Honey : Several tons of ordinary quality in bulk on order at 2Jd ; clover, in small tins, 3Jd ; section, dull at 3d to 3Jd. Fruit of; all kinds plentiful at slightly lower values.
