THE YOUNG NEW ZEALAND PARTY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Many who will.attend at the various centres to listen to th6'Hon. John Bryce, member for Waipa, will not come so much to listen to the member for Waipa as to listen to Mr John Bryce, the future leader of.-.a uevr and a.great, party in the House of Assam bly, andafit man to be .opposed tnand by another leader and strong party in the House. Both parties being elected on patriotic 'principles will be as useful to the country, whether Government or Oppo lition, for the time being, as each other; It was for this reason that many signed Mr Bryce's requisition, not necessarily as pledged supporters, but from the conviction that new leader* and new measures were needed to ■ save New Zealanders from revolting against Parliamentary Gs varment in New | Zealand as they did against Provincial Government, and that in Mr Bryce both friend and foe (politically speaking) recsgnises a strong and sincere well-wisher of New Zealand. A hard roan—but true— and therefore one very fit to bo a leader. It is therefore to be hoped that electors of Waipa will remember that to them belongs the honour of having set a truly patriotic example to.New Zealand electorates, and of having unlocked the door to a new system—which will seek for the good of New Zealand, even at local and self-sacri-fice.—l am, etc., A Yoong Nkw Zkalandeu. Waipa, February 14th, 1890.
