VOLUNTEER AND PUBLIC HALL, TE AWAMUTU.
An adjourned meeting of those interested in tiio above, was held at the Hall, on Wednesday. The balance sheet and .statement of accounts of the out going committee were audited and approved. The report of the Chairman, Mr James Walton, was adopted. The committee have beeji conluniiiiisly in olHce since September 18S5, and during their term of olliee, the roof of the hall Ims been covered with corrugated iron. A balance of over &> i-s in hand together with certain assets making a total of Mvur t'lO. By ariangement made with the Theatre Royal Company the new pm.sce.iinm and stage littiugs are the property of the Hail committee. The fancy dress ball to be held on the 2Mt instant has for its object the raising of funds for the ceiling and lining of the hall. The following gentlemen wore elected as new committee and trustees :—Messrs Ahier, Cox, Graham, C. (■'. Storey, Teisdale. and Wetherill. Mr Aliiai , was chosen chairman and preliminary arrangements were made for the ball on race night. The price of tickets was fixed at Us (id each. Family ticket to admit four 7s (id. The next meeting of the committee will be hold in the Hull on Wednesday, at S p.m. (A Correspondent.)
