Toatoaroa Road Board. Tiik above Board met at tlie Criterion Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday, at 11 a.m. Present: Messrs C. M. JJtnnskil 1 (chairman), G. Hally, S. Seddon and H. R. Brunskill. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Cambiui>iiE"Oxi'oki> Koad. —Mr Reddon reported that lie had inspected the work done by H. Wattam, and found it satisfactory. It would be noticed in Wattam's account that a considerable amount of dray work had been charged for, but he (Mr Seddon) knew that a great quantity of the work could not be done without a horse and drav, and Wattam had told him that he only charged for the number of hours in which they were used.—The Chairman said this was a matter in which they had to trust to a man's honesty, and he did not think that Wattam would betray that trust.—Mr Se:ldori was asked to inspect the road again some time this week, it being left to him to decide what further work should be done, and to discharge the man when it was completerl. Frbnoii Pass Koad.—The Chairman suggested that the Cambridge Koad I Boiud should be asked to take steps to get the French Pass Road deviated, so that it would cross Mr Dogherty's paddock in the part that had lately been used, as it would then meet the road on their boundary. The road, as surveyed, went round the other side Mr Dougherty's paddock, and ended in a gully, and was of course useless. Mr Buckland had iutended to have closed the old road and opened the new one, but it had never been done, and consequently they had been trespassing on Mr Doghnrt'a property for a number of years. The land was now ploughed and sown, which would prevent anyone crossing it for a time; but, when the crop had been gathered, he thought the Cambridge Board should get the alteration made, especially as he learned that Mr Dougherty was not opposed to its being done.—The Chairman was deputed to wait upon the Cambridge Road Board and explain the matter. Mu Arnold's Drain-.—Mr Forrest said the Chairman and Mr Pickering had promised to be at the meeting to discuss the matter of Arnold's drain, and in their absence he did not feel inclined to bring it forward, he therefore moved that the discussion of the matter be adjourned until there is a f.ill meeting.—Seconded by Mr Smith and carricd.—Mr Forrest stated that Mi Pickering and himself met Mr Arnold and had a sociable chat about the drain, when they found that what Mr Arnold wanted was only assistance, nothing being said about damages.
