NATIVE NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Alexandra, Wednesday.

The Ngatimaniapoto meeting, that was to have been held to-day, had, in consequence of the wet weather, to be postponed. I was at Kopua this morning. Wahanui and his people were there, but Taonui, whose presence appears to be indispensible, had not arrived, and the rain coming down heavily no speaking could take place, as there is no house there where a meeting could be held. Fiv« hundred loaves and other provisions were being destroyed by the rain. Tawhiao is, after all, the person to bo credited with solving the native difficulty. All his people here are satisfied with leaving to him and the Native Minister the final settlement, and they are in accord. Tht only thing now that Tawhiao ii doubtful about is the advisability or otherwise of his accepting a mat in the Council. Mr J. B. Warner, Hamilton, is prepared to receive pupils fdr pianoforte »nd harmonium. Mr G. Walworth, notifies that ha has taken the Tauwhare Hotel, in connection with which he will carry on a general store, blacksmith, shoeing and fitting business. Mr Harray, butcher of Lichfield, is keeping pace with tho times, and has an advertisement in our present issue,
