rtKi«.K\Nr McfJnvni received a telegram yesterday from Constable Berrinnn, stationed at Ng.muwahin, stating th.it the old mission station at Hopuhopu, between Ngaruaw.ihia and Taupni, had been burned down the pre\ious night. Ko clue as to the origin of the fire has been obtained. The occupier, Mr T. McDonald, is away, supposed to be in Auckland. The old .station was formerly, i»t different times, the roiideuce of the Key. B. Y. Ashwell, and the Yen. Archdeacon l'ritt, but lAtterly had fallen considerably into decay. No particulars as to insuiaticd, &c, have reached vi.
