Railway Extension. The railway will be opened through to Te Arulia on March the ls>t. An excursion train will run from Auckland, reluming same day. The fare is 7s Gil. The Rotorua railway will be opened to Oxfoid on March Bth, and to Lichlield a month later. A coach will leave Ohinemutu in time to connpct with the train.-* at Oxford three times weekly, completing the journey through to Auckland iv one day. The ne<v time-table comes into force on March Sth, which will give greatly mci eased local facilities in the Waikato including trains to Te Aroha from Cambridge, Hamilton, and Te Awamutu.
Fire. Carter's general store at Mangapai has been burned down. It was insured for £250, bat the loss is much greater including a large number of notes in the house.
