Assault. Auckland, Wednesday Night. The youtli named Kelly, who assaulted his shopmate, Wilson, to such an evtent as to cause concubbion of the bvain, was fined £10.
y.M C Association's New Building. The foundation-stone of the new Yonup Men's Christian Association Rooms, to cost £7500, was laid by Bishop Barry this after-
noon. Bankruptcy. Mr Goodson, fancy Roods dealer and proprietor of the Victoria Arcade, is bankrupt, with hia partner, Fountain.
Electoral. It is more than probable that Mr Mitchelson will contest the Marsden seat again.
The Alameda. The mail steamer Alameda from Aucklaud reached 'Frisco two days before contract date.
The manager of the North New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association announces the arrival of new shipments of manures, and also notifies shareholders refipecting the new system of auctioneering broken loti of produce, referred to in our report of the last meeting of directors. Messrs W. J. Hunter and Co. will sell at the Cambridge yards, «m Thursday, the 4th February, fat and store cattle, dairy cows, sbeep, &c. On Saturday, Oth February, they 'will hold their usual horse sale at Cambridge, when they will offer over 50 horses, pair of horses, waggon, dray and harness, Sec. On Tuesday, the 9th February, they will offer at Obaupo. 000 head mixed cattle, at per list in advertisement, sbeep, horse*, &c, *p.
