FEMALE JEALOUSY.
A Pari^ correspondent *ays :—: — A most lamentable comedy," winch casts a curious light on ceitain characteristics of I'ieneli lite, Ins been recently enacted in one of the suburban cemeteries of i'.nis. On the occasion of the recent annual \ isits to the tombs of the dead, a young widow ai-ivcd at the monument erected to the meivoiy of her dead husband, and, notwithstanding the notorious unfuthfulness of her departed upouse, which had often been a bone of contention between them in his lifetime, she prepaiod to place some fiesh floweis and coronals on the grave. While engaged in this meritorious action, aho nab suddenly Mir prised to sec a young woman of about her own age and of lather propose l'-ing appearance, whom she afteiuanis discovered to be one of her playmates of infancy, approach the grave and al-o prepare to bt strew it with winter flowers. The widow, rising suddenly to the height of the situation, cried out, "Oh! you were the womeu, weie you ?" and immediately fell upon her lival like a lioness. A desperate tooth-and-nail encounter raged for some momenta before the tomb, dining which the flowers and immortelles were scattered to the four winds. The piercing cries of the combatants as they warmed to their woik brought the keepers of the ccmeteiy to the spot, and the two rivals, who had in the meantime considerably damaged each other, uere separated with some difficulty. They then left the cemetery by diffierent exits, the widow protesting loudly against the barefaced impudence of her detested enemy, who actually braved her at her husband's grave.
