WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Waipji County Council was held at the chambers, Ohaupo, mi Monday. Present : Cm. Lake (chairman), Smith, Hermann, Unco and Tcasdale. Spkcial R\ru.— lt, was resolved that the special rate of l-Wth of a penny in the £ be made a* advertised. Engineer's Rhi'OßT.— The engineer made his monthly leport, which appears in another part of this isiue. Wouks.— lt was decided that £l. r > be spent on the »trcet level in Te Awamutu at Lew in* cornei.— The engineer nai instructed to carry out the work on the Kihikihi road, all thr tenders being too hitch. — The school cutting, Kihikihi, was ordered to be completed by the engineer, it not having been finished by tho constabulary. — Whir" were Authori-ied to be erected to the bridge on the iwamp road, to keep cattle off. Da\\s Drain.— lt was resolved that Mr Day be notified to repair tho damage he has caused, by putting in a culvert, or action will be taken against him. Tenders.— The following tenders were accepted :— Nicol. for brickwork piers, £178 os ; Kennedy, for gravelling, 17* <»d per chain. Alkxandra Drainage.— No tender was accepted, and the engineer was instructed to take level* in the direction of Myles' acre, and if practicable to call for tenders. Whatwvhaih Drainage.— lt was agreed that the drain be taken along the roadside, so as to utilise the existing draim. Chi-ksk Futor\ Hilu— lt was agreed that the engineer's plans be carried out, the council to pay half cost up to £00, the Mangapiko board to pay for additional work. Vfr\M)vhh.— A deputation from tho To Awamutu Town Board w.vited on the council re verandahs and footpaths.— A committee wan appointed to arrange with the town board so as to carry out their VHJWS.
