NEWS FROM GENERAL WOLSELEY. London, December 18.
A despatch has been received from Lord Wolseley, stating that the boats which have buen used for tho transport of the British expedition up tho Nile have fulfilled all expectations. The troops arc in excellout health, and fit for any trial of strength with which they may niuut. Tho work of bringing the bo.its up the river proved very haul, but was borne cheerfully. l>oth oflicors and men are iv excellent spirits, and all thoughts are now bent upon the approachiug march to Khartoum, and the relief of the city and of (ieneral Gordon.
