WELLINGTON, Tuesday.
Messrs Nelson, George, Moonlight, and another man have been out prospecting for twenty-one days, between Lake Rotciti and Motupapa, without having been heard of. Giave fears are now en tertained. A search paity is out, but no news has been received. During the last few days there has been a slight revival of interest in the Terawhiti goldfield, and enquiries have been made for Golden Crown shares, some parcels of which have changed hands, but holders generally are not inclined to sell. The JVJayor is seriously indisposed, suffering from brain fe\er. Wednesday. With reference to Welcome Jack and Escatos, the New Zealand horses which are still left in the Melbourne (Jup, it is quite uncertain at present ■whether they will go or not. The Hon. Mr Robinson, who returned from Sydney bv the Hauroto, is a passenger South to-day, and he states that telegiams which he is expecting might determine his plans at any moment. David Reaniburgh, a very old resident, died to-day.
