Notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council intend on Tuesday, August 19th, ISB4, to make a rate of one-halfpenny in the pound for the twelve months ending March 31st, 1885, to become payable on Wednesday, August 20th, ISSS. TXJT AIKATO COUNTY. To Ratepayers of the Tamahere Riding. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given in terms of section 49 of the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882, that the Waikato County Council having made an application to the Government for a loan of three thousand three hundred and twenty-five pounds twelve shillings sterling (£3325 12s), in terms of part 1 of the above act, for purposes undermentioned. A poll of the ratepayers of the said riding will be taken at the residence of J. J. Bar ugh, Esq., Tamahere, on Fiiday, the l'2th day of September next, commencing at 9 o'clock a.m., and closing at 6 o'clock p.m., to decide by ballot whether the Waikato County Council shall or shall not borrow the sum of money abovementioned, viz., £3325 12s sterling. The works proposed to be undertaken are :—: — Ist. — Erecting one bridge and four culverts, draining, forming, and gicnelling the main load Ohaupo to Piako (within the riding) at an estimated cost of £1550. 2nd. — Erecting two bridges and two culverts, also cutting, draining, and gravelling the Cambridge to Piako main road (within the riding) at an estimated cost of £1775 12s. Total, £3325 12s. The amount of yearly payments (ten) required to be made to the Government will be £83 2s 9^-d, and the amount of special rate required to meet them will be three-sixteenths of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of the riding. Plans, specifications, and detailed estimates of the cost of the proposed works may be seen at my residence (the county office) during ordinary business hours. JAS. McPHERSON, County Clerk, Waikato.
