WELLINGTON, Sunday. Sir George Giey ami Mr Dargaville arrived by the steamer Arawata tiom Auckland this morning Monday. In consequence of the outbieak of small-pox at Napiei, the Government have issued fifbli regulations to the health authoiitics at each port, demanding that on theatiival of a \ es«el from Victoiia a most stungent medical inspection be made of all on board, and should any suspicious circumstance lie discovered the vessel, with her passengers, to be at once quarantined. It is understood that Mr Dick has not yet handed in his resignation ns Colonial •Secretary, but he lias practically handed o\oi tharcc of the office. Mr Dick leaves foi Dunulin by the steamer Hauloto to-mouow. A telegram from London, dated the 2nd in>t, states that the Aoraiigi has leit Plymouth for Wellington A Scandinavian jnil named Anderson has been committed for trial on a charge of infanticide atTe Em, near Masterton, in July last Ninety natives belonging to Waitnra and the North, left Parahaka on their return home, jesterday.
