[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] Melbourne August 2. A bkpoht has reached here that smallpox has nude its appearance at a border town, on the boundary line between Victoria an r l South Australia, where two police fcroopeis have been attacked with a disease which is believed to be true variola. Further cases of small pox are also reported in the suburbs of this city.
(Received August 4, 12 45 p.m.) A cn&e of small-pox has occurred in the heart of the city, and fears are entei rained that the infection mayspread.
(Received 4th, 2.40 p.m ) Melbocikve, Monday. Arrived, yesterday : The P. and 0. steamship Ballawifc with the English mails, dated London, June 27.
