This afternoon the Waihora arrived, and, according to directions, dropped anchor alongside of the quarantine hulk. Dr Philsou immediately went alongside of the vessel, when Captain Edie reported that he had on board 35stloon and 43 steerage passengers, all well. No sickness occurred, except in the case of the fireman landed at Napier. Piom the symptoms described by the captain, Dr Philson had no doubt that the man was suffeiing from smallpox, and directed that the Waihora should remain at anchor until he had communicated with the authorities at Wellington. The mails have been fumigated on the quarantine hulk.

Auckland Racing Club. At the Racing Club's meeting, the accounts showed a credit balance of £1200.
