A laige amount of quartz is coining to hand, anil 20 stampers are kept going at the battery, where the crushing is shaping about the same as last month, a change for the better being noticeable this week over last. Colonist. — The manager is engaged driving on what is supposed to be the main leef, but of which some doubt has been expressed for some time Opeiations hi the winze liom the upper level have been discontinued, owing to the quautity of water. A rise is now being put up from the low level. Canadian. — Operations are being confined at present to the lode known as Williams' Reef, from where a sufficient quantity of stone is being obtained to keep five heard of stampeis going, and which is shaping for a payable return. Inverness.— Five head of stampers are being kept going at the battery. The returns of amalgam so far have not turned out as up to exj ectation, but a quantity of picked stone on hand will bring up the yield to a payable one. A few loads of stone brought down by the manager to day, and ground up in a berdau, yielded 2'2ozs. of cold water amalgam.
