Major Atkinson. Auckland, Friday Night. Major Atkinson has definitely decided to address a meeting at Auckland. He arrives shortly.
English Ship Arrived. The barque Alastor has arrived from London with 26 passengers after a voyage of 114 days.
The Waverly Hotel. The licensing committee lias refused to transfer the Waverly Hotel license.
Northern S.S. Company. The Northern Steamship Company has declared a dividend of 10 per cent.
The Markets. _ J> Mr Bunny reports.— Weekly sale of wool, hides, and skins. The market for hides is still weak. Ordinary lots sold afe from 3d to 3Ad ; inferior, 2d to 2gd per lb ; station skins, 2a 2d to 3s 7d ; lamb skins, 2s Id to 2s 7d ; pelts, 10d to Is 7d ; green, 2a 2d each j scoured pelt wool. 17d per lb.
