Melbourne, April 5. Further agricultural returns published give the yield of wheat in Victoria this season at fifteen and a- half million of bushels. The average yield per acre thus remains at 13*39 bushels.

April 6. To-day has been observed as a general day of mourning throughout the colony for the late Duke ot Albany. The majority of the citizens of Melbourne clrebsed in black. Flags were flown on all public buildings at half-mast.

Sydmey, April 5. Dr. Barry arrived this morning and met with a hearty reception from the clergy and laity. Addresses of welcome were presented to him, and special services were subsequently held in the Anglican Cath.edi.al.

April b. All the ships of war in port to-day fired minute guns in commemoration of the late Prince Leopold, with half-hour intervals. The filing lasted throughout the day.

Heavy rain has fallen pretty geueially throughout the colony, and empty dams have been replenished. The downpour in Sydney h<\o been exceptionally heavy, fully ten inches having been recorded since the 4th. Parts ot the city were Hooded, and some damage resulted. The intermittent supply of water to the city and suburbs has now been revoked. Bishop Barry preached in the Anglican Cathedral yesterday. The sermon was most eloquent, and made special reference to the late I'rince Leopold, At the Ha wkesbiu y Race Cm b's Autumn Meeting on Saturday, the Handicap was won by Empiuas, with Phyllis second, and Saulonyx Until. Twelve horses staited. Empress, the favourite, won easily. The Maideu Plate was won by Bar^o.

Mm-houune, April 7. The persons wounded by the leoenfc l.nlu.iy aucidunt aie all progressing favouiably towards iccovery. Members ot the Boaul of Euquiiy have inspacted the scene of the disaster.

The Wairarapa-Adelaide enquiry was resumed this morning. Altogether there are seventeen witnesses from the Adelaide and eighteen from the Wairarapa to be examined. Obituary : Judge Macfarland.
