HAMILTON DOMAIN BOARD.

The adjourned monthly meeting of the board was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday evening. Present : Messrs Knox (chairman), Davy, Yon Sturmcr, McDodald, G-audin and Peat. A letter was read from Mr James Hume, lessee of lot 11, Hamilton West, applying to have the drainage facilities increased. By taking off the water they would benefit a considerable area of land belonging to the board. — The Chairman said it would be necessary to confer with the railway authorities with regard to the outlet drain. — The matter was referred to a committee conaibting of Messrs Yon Stunner, Cochnme, McDonald and the chairman. — This Secretary lo.id letters from the chairman of the Alexandra Town Boaid and from Mi Hodgson, Haiapupe, making application for some young trout. Mr Hodgson said the creek flowing tlnough his land was, from what lie knew of the Cumberland stream^, admirably adapted for trout. — Some discussion followed, the opinion of the boaid being that while it was d'Wi.ibli 1 to Ktock a-, many streams as possible, it v. as hardly fail that the board should be at the expense and trouble of hatching for other public bodies to reap the benefit. Ultimately it was agreed to give 30 young fish to each of the applicants — Several small accounts were passed for payment, and nuthoiity was given to the secretary to put chase from the borough two gates, posts, &c, for the Lake reserve.
