At the special sale held afcfcttvAUenk residence, .Hukekohe, *n March 31,, tncre was a numerous attendance of settlers, and a Tgood enquiry throughout. Prices , were satisfactory, particul.uly for horse stock, which good class. ,At tho, regular .monthly sale at Pukekohe, on Monday last, the stock were mustered in excess ot the accommodation afforded by the yards. The demand for dairy, cattle was better than for some time. Calving hcHors ranged, from £f> to £0,10), each; grown sttels were also irWATr 'demand, but c.ilVtfs were dull of sale, and at lower value. Near 400 head dfrentie were sold. At Keiuuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were at late value;.. Very few steers were offered. Fat cattle in average number and better worth. Good steers averaged 23*. Sheep in lull numbers. Stores in good demand, and fiiihdcp showed .i slight improvement. iPigs, plentilul and required. Hunter and Nolans Kkport.— Horses : Thorp was increased activity in the market, a greater number being br6ught forward, and the demand was much more eager. At the Durham yards on Friday above an average number were submitted by auction, and realised an advance of fully £1 each in advance of the previous week's values. Cattle : There has again been a large number brought forward, and prices havofluctuated considerable, although there hks been but litjJp alteration in average values. At Newmarket on 'i'uesdayand at Papakura, on Wednesday, the yards were well filled. Competition Wai 'good, and for top 1 sorts, fat boasts, 24s per lOOlbs. was given. Dairy cows were well computed for, as also well reared calves and griwn steers. We quote— CalVe% from IDs to LI 6s ; eighteen-months-olds, LI 7s Od to LI 18s ; young dry cows, L 3 12s Od to L 4 10s Od ; two-year-old stccrsi L3 l7s Od to L 4 10s ; three-year-old steers, L 3 17s Od to L 5 ; tour year-old steers, in feood condition, L 7 10s. Sheep : A very large number wore brought forward, knd those in good condition for the butcher sold at an advance on last week's prices. Fat wethers, from 13s Od to lOs ; ewes, 10s 0d to 14s 3d ; fat lambs, (is Od to 13s Od. Pigs : Hut few yarded. Good porkers in demand at 2Jd to 3id per lb.
