SUPREME COURT, AUCKLAND.
TfIKSDAY. The. Grand Jury brought in the>following true bills: — (1) against Te Mahuki and others (natives) charged with assaulting and inflicting grievous bodily harm upon Messrs Hursfchouse and Newsham ; (2) against the same natives, , charging them with unlawfully wounding ; (3) against the same, charging them with "riot and tumult,;" (-i) against the same, charging tliem with stealing from the person ; (5) against the same, charging them with assault and occasional actual bodily harm ; (6) against Timi Hamilton and others, charging them, with assault and actual bodily harm ; (7) against E. 15. Walker and others, charging them with " forcible entry." No bills were returned against James and John Lanigan, charged with malicious injury, to property, or against Whakatutu for perjury. Thomas Gathercole, son of 'a settler at Mahurangi, charged with killim* a steer, the property of William and Walter Wacklow, of the same place, was found not guilty and discharged.
