Death ( of Mr E, Gk McMinn. The intelligence which has just been received of the sudden death of Mr E. 6. McMinn, ex-M.H.R. ior Waipa,' has been followed by a widespead feeling of sorrowful regret at the removal from our midst of one who was so well known and respected in our community, not only , during the term of his political life, but also in his private capacity as a resident in this county, who has always shown .1 lively; and intelligent interest in the welfare of this district, and who has always' used his best energies to promote its prosperity. , Both as a member of the county council and as chairman of the Pirongia jßoad Board, he has been an ardent worker* for the weal of the community, and thp road which now connects this, district with Waikato, over the Hakarama&i'range, owes its existence to his energy in matters political. We can ill 'afford the loss of'such 1 a man,anft lie' will belong remembered'tiy'the Raglanites as one who, during his residence aniougst us, had few equals in a desire to see the; 'courity advance to prosperity. ■ ' 1
