WELLINGTON, Last Night. Rain fell heavily this morning, and is much needed by the fanners. Sir Julius Vogel arrived by the Hawea from Lyfctelton at 1 o'clock, and was met by Major Atkinson and several of the leading citizens. To-morrow he will be entertained at a luncheon, at which the Mayor will preside. Sir Julius remains in Wellington until Monday next, when it is understood that ho will leave for Christchurch. He expects to take his departure from the colony in a fortnight. Captain Monahan, his wife, and a little hoy were thrown from a buggy on the Hutt road last night. The father was seriously injured.
