Auuklaxd, Last Night. The Hamilton Case. At the Police Court to-day, Thomas Piiestley and Miriam Hamilton were charged with the wilful murder of Hugh Hamilton. Superintendent Thomson applied for a further remand till tomorrow (Saturday) week, which was granted, theic being no opposition.

t Case of Seduction. Another cibe of a remarkable character involving interesting disclosures has been added to the banco list for the ensuing civil sessions of the Supreme Court. The issues were definitely settled this morning before Justice Gillies. The plaintiff, Adam McCluskey, in his declaration affirms that on or about the month of November, ISSI, defendant, Edward Killen Gilbert, seduced his daughter, Fanny Oliver McClu&key, and in consequence she became pregnant, the result being the birth of a child on the 2Stfo of J uly, the girl being under the age of 18 years at the time of the alleged seduction. On these grouuds plaintiff claims damages to the extent of £500. Defendant in his plea simply denies all plaintiff's allegations.

A Betting Case. Jii the Snpremc Court in C!iainber3 today, the issues were settled in the case Ramus v, Buckland, an action arising out of an alleged betting transaction on the EUlerslio Racecourse in J\uinnry last. Pl.iin tiff sues upon a piomissory note Jor €226, which he avers defendant gave to Mr Weston, the well-known hook maker. in consideration of a bt-fc which he lost to 'him in backiu" a horse named Clarence, the said note being subsequently endorsed by Weston and accepted by plaintiff. Defendant, however, repudiates, it. On [the motion qf 'Mr Cotter, the issues were settled, and the case fixed for heating before a special jury at the ensuing Civil sitting.
