RESIDENT MAGISTRA TES COURT, CAMBRIDGE.
Thursday.— (Before Mv H. W. Northcroft, R.M.) Alleged Sheep-stealing Case. Thomas Hoy, butcher, Cambridge, was charged, on the informatiou of John Arnold, for that he did, on the 16th day of April last, feloniously steal, take, and carry away six sheep, valued at £2 14s, the property of the said John Arnold. — Mr Dyer appearocl for the prosecution, and Mr Hesketh, with Mr M. Keesing, for the defence. — A considerable amount of evidence was produced for the defence, Mr J. S. Buckland, who was the principal witness, gave evidence to the effect that Hoy had bought several sheep from him with the same mark as those which he sold to Arnold about the same time. — Mr Hesketli addressed the Bench at considerable length, and showed that no caseHteally existed. — The case was accordingly dismissed.
