The Hon. the Premier at Cambridge.

Mr Hall went to Cainbi klge yesterday morning, in company with .vir J. B. Whyto. They were met at Hautapu by a deputation of the settleis, of the district re the road and the deviation in the railway. Messrs 'ft Wells and 11 Kirkwood, as a deputation from the Town Boaid, w aited on MrllallmMrKiikwood'sDukeof Cambridge Hotel, and laid before him several matters in connection with the district, notably the Cambndge-Jlotoiua load, new road to Taupo, the Karapno budge, the survey of the toM'ii and the town endowments. On the matter of the Rotouia load, Mr Hall said it was his intention to have that work carried out immediately, whether the natives liked it or not. He would oiler them certain terms and renditions, and if they did not comply with these the toad would be caincd on in spite of all opposition on their part. This was his present errand in that dnccbon. As to the Kaiapivo bridge, the local bodies were laboring under a niisappiehension when they <a\\d they had heaid that tde Oo\ eminent was going to construct the budge. They had only sent their oilicer to repoit on the bridge, and if the board desired they could have the use of his leport on the matter. The other matteis w ere satisfactorily ai ranged. The Premier leaves for liotorua in company with Major Mair this morning.
