Mr At-tRhD Hikki.and's Weekly Report. — At the Haymarkct on Friday, 30th, fodder was in less than usual supply. Oaten and nt«ado\4 hay ! (etched from 2s to }s Od per cwt.; small load* of , hay realised from 12s to 30s . straw, from 14s" to 17s the load ; fifty-four bags coarse mai/e, 3s 3d per bushel, 'Ihe horse m.irket was well filled, consisting principally of Wanganui stock. Medium draughts fetched from Li 9 to L 27 10s; harness horses, from Lio to L 1 8; good hacks, from L 9 to LlB ; light hacks, from L 5 5s to Lg. Bidding was brisk throughout the sale, and with few exceptions all lots offered were disposed of. At the Haymarket, on Friday last, hides and skins were eagcrlj competed ior, and full rates given for them. Hides ranged from 3^d to dd the lb. Sheepskins ranged from 2s to 7s id each. Wool 6Jd to Bfd the lb. At the Waiuku sale on October Ist, a small muster of cattle met with an indifferent sale, sellers not liking the low prices now ruling. At Pukekohe, on Monday, cattle were more numerous, and the greater part sold, but at a low range of values. At Remuera, on ihursday, dairy cattle were dull of sale, the prices realised being very little above their value as gra/mg .stock. Store cattle numerous, but in backward condition, .ill found buyers, but at low rates. Empty cows, L 2 and upward ; ten-months calves, 30s; three-yoat old steers, L^ each. Fat cattle were in full muster, and of uniformly good quality, prices more steady than last week, ranging from 26s to 28s the ioolbs. Seventy-four steers brought an average of Lio 10s, and forty steers L 9. The sheep market was also fully supplied, and better values obtained. A pen of longwoolled ewes, lambs at side, brought 25s 6d each, and fat sheep were about 2s each better worth than last week ; wethers in their wool ranged from 15s o.d to 22s ; shorn wethers, 12s to 16s; shorn ewes, 9s od to 12s 6d each. Lambs were in moderate supply only, and brisk demand ; prices ranged from 12s to 19s each. Messrs. Hunter & Nolans Weekly Report.— Horses : There has been a good deal of business done, although scarcely so many horses changed hands as on the previous week. The competition at auction was brisk throughout the Durham Yards sale, and in most instances puces were in favour oi the vendor, as compared with those ruling for some time. Several more good upstanding young horses could have been placed satisfactorily, and there remains an unsatisfied demand for buggy horses. We quote hacks from £5 t7S 6d to £18 tos ; light harness horses from to £25; active horses suitable ior quick heavy draught, £32 10s; draught colts, from ,£lB to £29 ss ; draught stock, with trials, frcm £i 2i 2 to £\7 lObi Wool, hides, and skins. — There was a good number brought forward on Tuesday. Wool in grease sold , Bales, at ,j^d to 6^; in bags, 5d . skins, from 2s }d to 6s 7d , hides, from to 4d ■ calfskins, 3^l Cattle .An unusually large number of dairy and stoic stock have been brought forward during the past week. FOl ically well-failed bullocks there was a perceptible advance in the price given, and those not so well up in condition quite maintained last week's values. On Wednesday, at the regular monthly sale at Papakura, there was .1 good attaudaucc of buyers, and the yards were 1 i.miincd with cattle, the prices ruling at the fair and at Newmaiket were freely given, and for some pens of steers in fresh condition a higher 1 ate was obt. lined. We quote : Beef, 25s to 295; d.urv cows, iiom £6 to £<) 17s 6d ; dry cows. £3 2s Gd to £ \ 17s Od ; c.il'vs, from 27s to 36s ; yearlings, from 30s to 42s Od; two-vcar-old steers, £t, 2b od to £4 ; lu-ifers, £2 17s 6d to £4 ss; grown steers, from £ j 5s to £5 10s. Sheep Iliac w.is an upward tendency in the market, and, as local supplies arc short, unless shipments come to hand it is likely to continue. Wethers sold at from 16s to 225, rams 14s od to 15s 6d ; lambs srarce, and sold at from 5s to 15s. Pigs were plentiful, and sold at prues 111 favour of vendoi as compared with the last fortnight.
