J. S. Buckland's Weekly Report.— At the Qhaupo Live Stock Sale on Thursday last, a ■ much larger number of cattle th.in usual (for this . time of the year) were bronght forward. The attendance of buyers ,was good, and for strong ralves and 18-months-old steers competition was spirited, jm<} every lot w-is sold at the auction af full \'alues. r The only stock remaining unsold i were a few, cows 'and some coarse steers. Dairy cows were plentiful, ntyl of a good class, ana brought from t/> to Lio ; well-bred young bulls, 12 to i6-months-'old, L 6 to L'jo ios ; store cows i scared, affd' sold at L 3 i^t to L 4 7s 6d ; calves, Li 15s foreman, mixed ,sexes, to L 3 5;. for steer calves of a good 1 class ; , 18-months-old steers, L 3 10s to L 4; two-year-old steers, L 5 10s each ; , } ftt Heifers dull of sale ', prime fat steors brought L 9 10s each. The f<it sheep penned were hot very good quality, but brought 14s 6d to 16s each, and all sold. Mr A'LfREb BtfcKfAVD's Weekly Report I—At1 — At flip Haj market, on Friday (sth inst.,j fodder was in fair Supply, .an improvement in value, oaten and nujndowihay bringing from 3s 3d to 5s per rwt. ; small loads of hay, 21s to 26s ; and straw, us t0.20s per load; oats, ;?s 7d to 2n iod jjcr bushel, lhe borsemarket was moderately filled, and the ' majority of those entered were disposed of at good prices. Heavy draught bi ought from L 25 to L 33 ; medium draught, Ll5 to L 26 ; light harness horses a.nd hacks Ls 5s to Ll3 15s. ' At the Haymarket on Tuesday the impioxemcnt in the prices noted last week was fairly sustained. Hides ranged from 3 \A to 4jjd; fulUWoolled~shetpskids, r from 3s' ga io $s 46.; inferior, from is }d each ; tallow 23s 6d per cwt| At W.aiuku on Saturday there was aa average muster of stock. Springers dull of sale, 1 but all other kinds were in brisk inquiry, particularly young cattle. At Remuera, on Thursday,' dairy cows were again in tull numbers ; wellbred good cattle fairly competed tor, but medium cattle at moderate values ; calves maintained their k'te values, but grown store cattle were lower in price. Fat cattle in full supplj, 170 head yatded, the greater part heavy cattle of first-class quality ; medium and inferior stock were at low values, from" 22s the loolbs ; well fatted cattle at the opening of the sale brought 20s, but fell as the sale proceeded to 26s the loolbs. Sheep were also equal to requirements, and last week's values barely sustained , best wethers brought 3J the lb, and the ewes 17s each. Messrs. Hu\Tkß & Nolans Weekly Report. — Horse's : There has been increased actively in the market. About an average number have been brought forward, which met a steady demand. At the Durham Yards on Friday qmtean average were submitted by auction. Competition was good throughout the sales, and there was a slight upward tendency in prices. We quote hicks, L6 15s to L2l ; light harness, Ll3 10s to LtB ; medium. L2^; heavy draught, L 37 ss. Hides and Skins . At the usual weekly sale at the Durham Yards, skins and hides advanced slightly in puce. We quote hides 3^l! to .id ; sheepskins, 3s id to 6s sd; tallow, 225 6 d ; wool, 7dtogi. Cattle : llu-re has been a lair amount of business done, and quite the usual number of dairy and store stock have changed hands. The weather was unpropitious on Tuesday, consequently the Newmarket sale was not so large as usual ; but there was a \ cry large muster on Wednesday ac Pukekohc. Dairy cows ha\c been plentiful, and prices were satistactorv to vendors; but the same can s( arcely be said" of stores, not that there was a decline in \alue, but .1 rise was cxpetted. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, there was not an average muster of fat beasts, 110 less than three cargoes being b.ir-bound in the Wditara, and many of those occupying the butchers' pens were not suffii lently up in condition, but prices had an upward tendency, as compared with last week. Sheep: lhe yards were well filled on Tuesday at Newmarket, and prices ruled in favour of the , buyer, as compared with the last few weeks, owing no doubt to large shipments from both the E.istand West Coasts. We quote : Wethers, 16s to 2zs 3d ; lot of -store sheep, 8s 6d to 1 is. Pigs were in moderate numbers, and good demand
