Bay of Islands Coal Company. Auckland, Last Night.
Night, The Bay of Islands Company's halfyearly report shows 22.81S tons coal gold in six months, for £13,681. A dividend of 7 per cent, per annum was declared.
The Weather. The heavy westerly gale to-day caused the bumping of vessels on the western side of the wharf, but not much damage was done
Sudden Death. Dr. Philson held a post mortau examination this afternoon on the body of Mrs Evitt, who died suddenly while returning from church yesterday, and having discovered that death resulted from heart; disease gave a certificate to that effect, thus rendering an inquest unnecessary.
The Princes' Reception Committee. The Princas' reception committee to-day resolved to send a telegram to the Admiral, regretting the alteration in the programme of the Squadron, and will return all subscriptions, the preliminary expenses being paid by the committee.
The Beer Duty. Thames, Last Night. The half-dozen prosecutions under the Beer Tax against Mr Ehrenfried are on at the B.M. Court. Mr Brassey appears for the Crown, and Messrs Tyler, Hesketh, and Miller for the defence. Four of the charges are for neglecting to cancel, and two for using old stamps on beer casks.
