Canterbury Hunt Club. Christchurch, Last Night.

The Canterbury Hunt Club held their first annual steeplechase meeting on the racecourse to-day with glorious weather, but a moderate attendance.

HUNT CLUB STAKES. Lunn'a Fakir 1 Lyford'a Winfreld 2 Ford's Flora 3 Native, Tawera, and Lucy also ran. Fakir, who never made a mistake, led soon after starting, and won hands down. Winfreld baulked only once, but the others jumped badly throughout. Flora was a very bad third. The race was very slow.

GONE AWAY STAKES. Butler's The Agent 1 St. James' Quaraby 2 Lunn's Clarence 3 All three horses jumped beautifully throughout.
