A British Garrison Surrendered. Capk town, March 22.

Telegrams have come to hand to-day from the Transvaal,bringing newa that the British garrison at Potchefstroom, which had been besieged by the Boers since the outbreak of hostilities in the Transvaal, yielded to the enemy on the day on which the treaty of peace between Sir Evelyn Wood, ou behalf of the British, and the Boer leader, was signed. Before the garrison surrendered, however, desperate fighting, lasting several hours, took place, and the British suffered the loss of 18 killed and fully 90 wounded. The loss of the Boers is not stated.
