NATIVE LANDS COURT, CAMBRIDGE. Saturday. — (Before His Honor Judge Symonds.)

Tiik Court sat at 10 o'clock, but was adjourned till 12, in order to give additional time to allow of Messrs Sheehan and Mangakalna completing their arrangements. On re-assembling at 12 o'clock, Mr Mackay made an explanation in regard to the position which lie occupied, having formerly acted as agent for the Government, and now on behalf of ceitain natives, to give evidence against whom he had declined. He apologised to the Court for not attending. Mr Sheehan stated that an arrangement had been m rived at between MangaUahia and himself with reference to the Pokaiwhenua and Huilnut.iha blocks. Ho had agre°d, on behalf of the Crown, to reserve 1000 acres of land out of the two blocks for the objecting patties, the land to be in one or two blocks as desired by the non-sellers, and to be of fair average quality. He would ask the Court to make an order to this efFect on Monday. Mr Mangakahia consented to the arrangement on behalf of his clients. Mr Sheehan having stated that he would a&k for the Waiti and Kuranui blocks to be brought on on Monday, the Court adjourned.

At the Land Court pitting to-d.iy tho 1000 acres reserved for the non-sellers in Pokaiv/hcnu<a and Huihuitaha blocks was defined, and an order of the Court made accordingly for the remaining 17,863 acres in that block, as also the balance of 25,000 acres in the Tokoroi block in satisfaction of the Crown's claim. Mr Sheehan said he accepted this in full satisfaction, and the Crown's claim over Patetere was provided for. The conterminous blocks in Patetere will be gone on with to-morrow, and the nativ6 right defined.
