Rank and file— killed, 82 ; wounded, 120; and 250 taken prisoners.J Intelligence has been received that the proposals of peace which have beon -made to the Basotos by the Commander of the Colonial Forces , have ; remained unanswered, and that the armiqtico has accordingly ceased. No further operations can be proceeded With at 'present in cdnsequence of heavy rains. ' x It is announced that 'Generals ' Sir Donald Sle\yart and Sir, Fredcriok Roberts are to be craated baronets.
