MANGAPIKO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
The Trustees of tliß above district met on Saturday last for the transaction of the. ordinary business of the district, Messrs Mackay, Higginson, and Ligerfcwood beiup present. Theminutesofthepreviousmaeting being confirmed, the month's correspondence was discussed. The petition of the frontier settlers for a bridge across the Mangapiko was held over for a fuller meeting. The plans of roads closed being Bcarcely correct, the Board directed that they should be returned, the Secretary being instructed to forward them to the Chief Surveyor for certification as soon as the plans are corrected. The Board expressed regret that all parties interested in the road had not signified their intentions. The Board agreed to call for' tenders for draining on McKinnon's road, and for ploughing and on Paterangi road. ' » Accounts were parsed amounting to £16 11s. ' The rate collector was directed to proceed against defaulting ratepayers foithwith, and the meeting broke up.
