RAGLAN.

Tawhiao's Visit. There is nothing very fresh doing here. On Monday last, the 21st, his sable majesty King Tawhiao and suite arrived from Kawhia and stayed at Kopua till Saturday, 2Gth instant. The object of his visit is not definitely known, although he himself says it is his annual visit ; and that he will return soon again when the weather gets finer. The Maori Hore (George) who staked himself, and was so dangerously ill, is now progressing favorably under the skilful and able attendance of Mr W. Powell, as we have no doctor here. Hore has, as stated in the Waikato Times of la&t Saturday, most certainly had a very narrow escape, for he had a stick about 18 inches in him, and only for his own presence of mind might have died instantly. — [A Correspondent.]
