BUGGY ACCIDENT.
On Sunday evening Messrs. Friar and Davis of Ngaruawania, accompanied by two friends left Mofflin's stable in the direction of home about half-past 7 o'clock. The trap was unprovided with lights, and the night being unusually dark the occupants were uuuble to see the road before them. When near Mr. Searankes residence the horse mis-ed the road and turned off in the direction of the giavel pits and presently the wheel dropped down, drawing the whoie of the four occupants into the hole, and turning vehicle up side down. How all escaped is a wonder, but no one was hurt and after righting the trap they waited patiently for the moon before resuming their journey. People should be careful to carry lights on two grounds ! First because by neglecting to do so they render themselres liable to a fine for a breach of the Borough Bylaws aud secondly because on some of our roads they run no inconsiderable risk of breaking- their necks.
