Waikato Cattlk Market.—Mr J. S, Buckland reports: —At the Ohaupolivc stock s.ilc on Tuesday, 22nd June, there was a large muster of cattle of all classes. Prices were a shade lower than at the previous sale. 245 head were yarded, 27 head reserved and passed, and 218 sold at the following prices: —Dairy cows, £6 to £8; rahes, 30s to 52s 6d; yearling to 15 months old steers, £215s2 15s *° £3 lS s '< Heifers, £2 10s to £3 ss; 18 months to two-year-old steers, £\ to £5 2s 6d; grown steers, £6 10s; fresh young cows, £4 to £5 2s 6d each. Buef, 2V> per ioolbs. Very few sheep were penned. Strong active young horses, £19 and £23 ; small riding horses and screws, £$ to £5 each.
Auckland Cattle Market. —Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Report:—At the H.iymarkct, on Friday, hay ranged from 3s to 3s 3d; straw, ss 3d to is 6a; chaff, 2s to 3s; carrots, 3s 6d cwt.; potatoes, L 3 7s 6dS boncdust, L 6 5s to L 6 125 6d per ton per ton; barley, 2s qd ; Coast maize. 3s 7d to 3s nd the bushel. Horse stock were fairly represented, and many sales effected. A two-year-old heavydraught colt brought L 30 10s. Aledium.dreught, iv good condition, L2O to L^o; small-sized horses, L 2 to L 2 10s; fair riding horses, from Lg to Ll2 each. On Tuesday, hides were in small lots, and brought from 3d to }§d the lq.; sheepskins, frcn is ?o 4s 4d each ; small lots of wool, 6d to 7J the lb. At Remuera, on Thursda.v, dairy cattle were in brisk inquiry. No good store cattle offerrcd. Fat cattle in modecate number: fifteen head yarded. Prices advanced, and ranged from 27s to 325, steers of good quality 30s the ioolbs. Sscep were in good number; about 600 sold. Tncy were in reques, and last market's rise in price fully sustained. Pigs of all descriptions were yarded, and sold fscely at a considerable advance on late value. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly Rcporn. — Horses.—The market has been fairly supplied. There has been a steady demand, and prices have beeea maintained. An average number 0/ entries were made at the Durhlm yards on Friday, and sales were effected almost without exception, and a few upstanding young horses could have been placed. We quote hacks from L 5 to Lis 15s: light harness horses, Ln to Ll6 10s; medium draught, Li 7 to L 24 15s.—Cattle: The very severe weather prevented stock being brought forward, whicq had the effect of slightly raising values. At Newmarket on Tuesday, although the supply was smaller than usual, still it was adequate. Bidding was good throughout the sale, and, with the exception of dairy cows, last week s values were maintained.—Sheep : The number penned at Newmarket was adequate, and met corresponding demand, consequently prices were without alteration. —Pigs were short of requirements, and in good demand.
