Brisbane, February 21. A man bathing in the Kantree River, yesterday, was attacked by an alligator, which siezed him by the thigh and crushed and clawed him severely. The alligator finally slipped his hold, and escaped.

Brisbane, February 21. The steamer Menimuir, from Singapore, reports that the comet was seen in Torres Straits. The nucleus was very red and was quite visible.
