WAIPA ELECTION.
[PER ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] MR McMINN AND MR WHITAKER AT NEWCASTLE. Last night. There was a large and influential I meeting held here to-night. Mr j "Whit.aker spoke for about an hour. : Mr McMinn followed, and spoke well j and forcibly in reference to the in- ! justice of the Rating Act. He regretted that he had not heard of Mr Cox's resignation earlier. A unanimous vote of confidence was accorded to Mr Whitaker and a vote of thanks to«>Mr McMinn.
