Sib— l see m your issue of February 16th a letter signed "A Chiel That Takes Notes." I am not at all surprised that the Chiel was shocked at Mr Roche's statements at the Te Awamutu public meeting, his own being so opposite from truth that he is surprised when he hears the truth from any one else. He speaks of a petition being brought forward by some person for the removal of the rail- | way terminus to his own paddook. I don't think he need be afraid of a petition signed by a single individual altering the site. I believe this to be another of the duel's false notes. The gentlemen alluded to as a terrier, both from his appearance and conduct at that meeting, well merited the title, as he was constantly snapping at those who held different opinions to. himself. In fact most of the speakers were addressing each other instead of the chair. There was as much order as one could expect from a packed meeting. — I am, &c, "Physio Te Awamutu, February 20th. -♦
