RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Hamilton, Feb. 18, 1878. (Before W. R. Himmoad, Esq., J.P.)
D&UNKKNNB33. Johm Taylob, alias Goodwin, pleaded guilty to the above offence. Sergeant MoGravem said the prisoner was becoming insane from the effects of drink, and had done no work since the races. He (the Sergeant) thought that forby-eight hours' would be beneficial to the prisoner. Fined 10s and costs; or, m default, forty-eight houra' imprisonment. BBB4OH OF THB " PUBLIC WOBKS ACT, 1876." William Williams was charged with being drunk while m charge of a vehicle. He pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s andcojt.-*; or, m default, forty-eight hours' imprisonment.
