SCHOOL PRIZES.
Bib, — The time is drawing near for th« bi eating up of oar iohoo's for the Xmu Holidays, and at yet, nothing has been heard with referent* to gtTing prizes to the children. I bear that the Committees of the Kihikihi ana Hamilton schools intend firing, beside* a special award for merit, a prke to erery boj aad girl in tho school for regular attendance. This, in my opinion, is a Terr wise proceeding a* it xntaoes children to be score regular in attendance and consequently lessens the werk of the teavher. I should like to see this plan carried out here. Books suitable for this purpose might easily bo procured in the Waikato at a small cost, and if the committee bare not sufficient funds, I would suggest that an entertainment be got up in aid of a prize fund, when, I ana sure, tbere would bo rerj fevr in Cambridge who wotld not willingly »ire their mite towards such a laudable purpose. I hope the Committee will see their way to act upon this suggestion.— l am. &c, Patvb. Cambridge, £>ec J5, 1&76.
