A MAN uamecl Ahomaa Aiwl, G9 yeavs of ngc, attempted suicide at Newton by Langing himself to one of the beams in ashed. He wasobsei'Tedby his daughter, and cut down immediately. Depression of spirits is said to have been the cause of the rash act. A dead body lias been found floating in fche, harbour, much decomposed. Appears to have been a stout man. The body has not been identified. The Custom-house at Gtahanntown lmd a narrow escape from burning owing to a zinc clihuney becoming ignited. The Bright Smile CompuMjr have agreed to allot 1,300 reserved shares in a proporti<j& of l£ to every four shares held.
